Service Description

Improving Health and Safety awareness amongst your staff will have many positive implications in your organisation. Creating a safer working environment will reduce accidents, decrease staff turnover, decrease absenteeism, increase morale and ensures that you comply with legislative requirements. Training your staff to maintain a comfortable workplace also demonstrates commitment to active staff development. The Health and Safety in the Workplace is tailored to business, organisations and individual needs to make the learning experience relevant and fit for purpose. It enables all employees to gain an understanding of Health and Safety. The one-day programme is designed to specifically meet the needs of staff working in your organisation. It is important for staff to be safe, and as caring employers you are partly responsible for this. As well as employer’s responsibilities, the course also focuses on teaching your staff to take care of themselves and make their working environment a safe place to be. It covers areas such as accident prevention, manual handling, electrical safety, chemical safety, risk assessment and display screen equipment. The programme also highlights the legal importance of accident reporting. Staff will also be trained in fire safety awareness and the implications of fire, how it starts and what to do in an emergency. Outline programme The qualification covers the following topics: • Legislation • Risk assessment • Health •Manual handling • Safety • Hazardous substances • Welfare • Transport and vehicles • The workplace and workplace equipment • Noise and vibration Who should attend? This course is suitable for all levels of staff and is particularly useful for those who have not received Health and Safety training or have been given Health and Safety responsibilities. It can also be used for induction training, those who require refresher training or Directors who want to understand their responsibilities further. Qualification information Successful candidates receive a certificate Where and when the course will be held The courses are held at your premises on a convenient date for your staff or at our premises in Essex. The start time of the course is 9.00am and finishes at 5.00pm, however, the times can be arranged to suit your organisation, such as schools times. Delegates are required to attend the whole course and if candidates arrive late they may have missed some of the syllabus and be unable to take the assessment.
