Defibrillator Refresher

Course overview
Defibrillator also known as Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is emergency equipment that is used when some has a heart attack and shocks the heart back into rhythm. Being able to one of these machines is the best training you will ever have as seconds are vital in this situation. Our four hour course gives students the confidence and skills to use this equipment in an emergency.

No previous first aid knowledge is necessary to attend an AED course, although it is recommended.

Outline programme
The qualification covers the following topics:

Ø     Treatment of an unconscious casualty
Ø     Resuscitation
Ø     Heart attacks
Ø     Getting to know the AED (any type)
Ø     Operating the AED

Who should attend?
This course is for people who would like to enhance their emergency first aid skills.

Qualification information
Assessment and certification is by continuous assessment by the trainer. Successful candidates will receive a certificate of competence which is valid for one year.
