It is important for staff to be safe, and as caring employers you are partly responsible for this. As well as employer’s responsibilities, the course also focuses on teaching your staff to take care of themselves and make their working environment a safe place to be. It covers areas such as accident prevention, manual handling, electrical safety, chemical safety, risk assessment and display screen equipment. Qualification information Successful completion leads to a nationally recognised qualification - The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Certificate. The programme also highlights the legal importance of accident reporting. Staff will also be trained in fire safety awareness and the implications of fire, how it starts and what to do in an emergency. It is important that staff are made aware of this so that in the event of a fire they will be well equipped to get themselves to a place of safety.
The course is held in your premises. The start time of the course is 9.30am prompt and finishes at 5pm. A multiple-choice test will start at 4pm and is scheduled to last for 1 hour. If delegates arrive late, they will be unable to take the test as they will not have completed the entire syllabus.
